Salt Lake, Utah- No. 24 SLCC Women's Basketball (17-7) narrowly defeated Snow College (14-10) in a 50-47 low scoring contest. The Bruins are now (6-3) in SWAC play.
In one of the most gritty and back and forth games in all of the NJCAA this season, the Bruins came away with a crucial victory.
Snow's largest lead of the game was six points and Salt Lake's largest lead was four points. The game consisted of eight ties and five lead changes. The Bruins struggled shooting as they shot 14-49 (28.6%) from the field. However, Salt Lake was clutch at line when it mattered and shot 21-28 from the charity stripe.
Despite a poor shooting day Tahys Da Silva and Lyla Kahrimanovic led the Bruins with 13 and 10 points respectively. Kahrimanovic and returning sophomore Ines Babaya combined for 9 steals. With 1:27 left in the game Babaya hit two free-throws to give Salt Lake a 48-47 lead. The Bruins got enough stops and the win as Lala Baldwin's corner three to tie the game at the buzzer fell short. Baldwin led Snow in the loss with 11 points and 7 boards.
