TAYLORSVILLE, Utah- (Saturday, January 25, 2025)- No. 18 Salt Lake Women's Basketball (16-5, 5-2) got outscored by eight points in the fourth quarter en route to a 58-54 loss to North Idaho.
The Bruins trailed the Cardinals (13-8, 5-2) 33-30 at the half. Salt Lake then dominated the third quarter, outscoring North Idaho 13-2. NIC responded and pulled off the big upset.
Center Jeanne Rodriguez recorded a double-double for Salt Lake with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Tahys Da Silva played all forty minutes adding 14 points.
The Bruins struggled from deep going 1-9. North Idaho went 5-13 from beyond the arc and committed five fewer turnovers than Salt Lake.
Esmerelda Galindo led North Idaho with a team-high 21 points.
