TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (Thursday, January 2, 2025)- No. 4 Salt Lake Men's Basketball (12-4) lost their conference opener to No. 1 Snow College (14-1) in a thrilling 77-76 come-from-behind victory for the Badgers.
With 4:50 to go in the 2nd half, Salt Lake led Snow College 74-62. The Badgers fought their way back and got their first lead of the game with 48 seconds to go, when Mark Brown Jr. hit his second three of the game to give the Badgers a 76-74 lead.
Ethan Copeland led Salt Lake with 28 points going 6-12 from deep. Xavier Edmonds added 11 points for Salt Lake in only 8 minutes of play. Edmonds was shockingly ejected midway through the first half, when his retaliation after being fouled was upgraded to a flagrant 2.
Freshman Sam Sivulich was strong off the bench for Salt Lake, pouring in all ten of his points in the first half.
The Badgers were led by sophomore Isaac Garret's 28 points. Garrett was clutch from the line going 15-17 on free throws.
On the Bruins last possession with three seconds left Mason Bendinger put up a deep three, but missed it long.
