TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (Thursday, January 2, 2024)- No. 4 Salt Lake Men's Basketball (13-4) staved off USU-Eastern (10-4) winning 75-72. The Eagles down by 17 at one point, reclaimed the lead with 1:11 to go. Salt Lake pulled away going 4-5 from the line in the final 25 seconds.
Ethan Copeland of Salt Lake had a team-high 16 points on four three-pointers against his former team. Sophomore Mason Bendinger followed with 15 points and a team-high 7 rebounds.
Freshman Sam Sivulich got his first start of the season for Salt Lake recording 13 points and dishing out a game-high 5 assists. Freshman Chudi Anosike was clutch for the Bruins scoring eleven of his 14 points in the second half.
Salt Lake and USU-Eastern are both (1-1) in conference play. The Eagles had four players record double-figures, led by Mark Huber's game-high 17 points.
