TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (Friday, April 5, 2024)— No. 9 Salt Lake has won 16 straight after dismantling Colorado Northwestern in four games. The Bruins outscored CNCC 76-8 in the series and 154-12 in eight games this spring.
SLCC improved to 30-5 overall and 22-2 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Game Three
SLCC 15 | CNCC 0
McKenna Cahoon kept the Spartan bats guessing all afternoon, tossing a one-hit shutout in the five-inning, run-rule-shortened game.
Miranda Mansfield was 3-4 with an RBI, while three other Bruins tallied two hits.
Kylee Ruesch hit a two-run home run in the third as Salt Lake blew the game wide open with eight runs.
Game Four
SLCC 16 | CNCC 4
Tiffany Hermansen got the ball and plenty of run support as the Bruins plated 11 in the fourth inning to complete the sweep.
Eight Bruins had two or more hits in the blowout win, led by three singles from Kendyl Purdy out of the leadoff spot. Mansfield drove in five, while Taylor Lewis-Balzarini finished with four RBI.

No. 9 SLCC returns to Taylorsville for back-to-back doubleheaders against Southern Idaho on Friday, April 12, and Saturday, April 13. The first pitch on Friday is at 1 p.m. MT. The Bruins and Golden Eagles occupy the top two spots in the SWAC regular season standings.
