TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (Friday, April 19, 2024)— Bruin pitchers tossed two complete games as SLCC swept day one against the Eagles.
Salt Lake is 34-7 overall and 26-4 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Game One
SLCC 7 | USU E 0
Freshman Shelbee Jones was dynamite in the circle, giving up just two hits and striking out 13 in a complete-game shutout.
Lexi Shaver went 3-3 with three RBI, and Jettlee Ioane went deep, driving in three of Salt Lake's seven runs.
Game Two
SLCC 15 | USU E 9
Bailey Marvin and Shelbee Jones went deep, while McKenna Cahoon scattered 12 hits in the six-run win.
Cahoon walked five and hit a batter but held on for the complete-game victory.
Seven Bruins finished with two or more hits, led by three knocks apiece from Emma Bradley-Tse and Lexi Shaver.
