TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (Saturday, April 13, 2024)— Sixth-ranked Salt Lake suffered its first home setback of 2024, dropping both ends of the Saturday afternoon doubleheader against Southern Idaho.
SLCC fell to 32-7 overall and 14-2 at home. The Bruins are 24-4 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Game Three
SLCC 2 | CSI 10
Seven fielding errors cost the Bruins a chance at putting some distance between themselves and second-place CSI.
Tiffany Hermansen gave up six hits and seven runs (three earned) while striking out five and walking four batters to take the loss.
Miranda Mansfield and Chloe Woods each had two hits.
Game Four
SLCC 5 | CSI 14
Salt Lake led 2-1 after four innings but CSI scored seven runs in the fifth and 13 runs in the final three innings to sweep the doubleheader.
Mikayla Jankovic took the hard-luck loss, giving up three runs on six hits in four innings.
Shelbee Jones went 2-2 with two RBI and gave up seven runs (six earned) in 1.1 innings.

No. 6 SLCC (32-7, 24-4) travels to Price, Utah, for back-to-back doubleheaders against Utah State University Eastern. First pitch is at 1 p.m. MT on Friday, April 19. The Bruins lead the SWAC regular season standings while USU E (21-16, 12-12) is fourth.
