No. 12 Bruins baseball opens homestand with sweep

Salt Lake explodes for 24 runs in series finale

WEST JORDAN, Utah (Friday, March 21, 2024)— No. 12 Salt Lake scored 34 runs in its final six at-bats Friday, sweeping the Community Christian College Saints in four games. 

The Bruins improved to 25-3 and 14-1 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.

Game Three
SLCC 15 | CCC 3

Salt Lake exploded for ten runs in the final two innings, including a walk-off three-run blast to right from Trey Gambill

Cam Bott and Traton Staheli combined to walk seven but gave up just two hits and struck out ten. 

Gambill went 3-4, reaching base five times, scoring three runs, and driving in four. 

Garrett Bauer went 3-4 with two RBI, while Jack Bluth went 2-4 with a triple and four RBI. 

Game Four

SLCC 24 | CCC 0
Luke Hines got the win, combining with Zach Monroe to allow three CCC hits in a game headlined by the Bruins' bats.

Salt Lake pounded out 19 hits, ten extra-base hits, the program's largest offensive output since 2002. 

Seven Bruins finished with two or more hits, led by Kaden Hodson's 4-4 day. Hodson and Maxton Peck each drove in five runs. 

Hudson Manwaring started behind the plate and went 3-4 with two RBI at the plate out of the nine-hole in the lineup.
