TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (Sunday, March 17, 2024)— No. 12 Salt Lake (21-3, 11-1) took four straight games from Utah State Eastern, putting a stranglehold on a top-two spot in the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings.
The Bruins have won six straight after a 12-game winning streak earlier this season.

Another game one start and another masterful performance from three-time SWAC Pitcher of the Week Garrison Sumner. The sophomore righthander scattered four hits and struck out six in five shutout innings.
Easton Gage went 3-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Garrett Bauer had a two-run triple in the second inning and finished with three RBI.
Game Two

The Bruins scored eight runs over the final two innings, lifting Dalton Smith to a win. Smith threw five innings, giving up five hits and three earned runs before giving way to Kyle Keyes for the final two innings.
Jake Olsen was 3-5 with three RBI. Garrett Bauer hit for the cycle, scoring four times and driving in two more. Bauer hit a solo home run in the second inning, doubled in the fourth, singled in the sixth, and completed the cycle with an RBI single in the seventh inning.
Game Four
SLCC 4 | USU E 1
Home runs from Trey Gambill and Ty Johnsen were all the scoring SLCC needed to complete the four-game sweep over their rivals to the east.
Salt Lake trailed 1-0 heading into the seventh inning after great pitching performances from Traton Staheli and Beau Sampson limited USU Eastern to five hits and a lone unearned run.
Gambill tied the game with a lead-off home run, setting the stage for Johnsen.
After a walk and Bauer single, Johnson blasted a three-run, game-winning home run.
