WEST JORDAN, Utah (Monday, March 11, 2024) – The fourteenth-ranked Bruins bounced back from a loss in the nightcap on Friday by sweeping a Saturday twin-bill against Southern Idaho.
Game Three
SLCC 4 | CSI 3
Salt Lake put men on base in the early innings but stranded seven runners through five scoreless frames as CSI built a 3-0 lead.
SLCC broke through in the sixth, scoring three runs on the back of one hit, three walks, a Luke Jacobs hit-by-pitch, and a timely wild pitch to tie the game at three.
Jacobs scored the winning run in the eighth after singling with one out. Jacobs advanced to second on a Trey Gambill walk before scoring on a throwing error while attempting to steal third.
The Bruins received nine bases on balls and stranded 11 runners.
Taylor Ayala picked up the win, scattering four hits in 5.2 scoreless innings.
Game Four
SLCC 7 | CSI 5
In a game marked by three big innings, the Bruins used a four-run second inning and a three-run fifth to finish the Saturday sweep at Cate Field.
Dalton Smith won the game for SLCC, giving up five runs, with only one earned thanks to a pair of Bruin errors in the Golden Eagles' five-run third frame.
Avery Doezie and Maxton Peck finished with two hits, a run scored, and an RBI.
Salt Lake had three doubles and stole two bases in the win.

No. 14 Salt Lake (17-3, 7-1) heads to Price, UT, to play four games against Utah State University Eastern (12-7, 2-0). The first doubleheader will be on Friday, March 15, with first pitch at 1 p.m.
