STERLING, Colorado (Friday-Saturday, December 13-14, 2024) No. 6 Salt Lake Men's Basketball improved to (11-1) as the Bruins won both of their games in Sterling, Colorado at the Region IX Crossover Tournament.
On Friday Night, Salt Lake beat tournament host Northeastern Junior College (4-10) 82-74. Sophomore Ethan Copeland was on fire, hitting 8 three-pointers and leading the Bruins with a career-high 33 points.
Sophomore Mason Bendinger had 20 points and sophomore Xavier Edmonds added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Bruins.
On Saturday night, Salt Lake defeated Trinidad State College (7-9) 102-74. Bendinger led the Bruins with 32 points going 14-19 from the field. Edmonds had 12 points, 10 boards, and was one assist shy of a triple-double.
Copeland added 17 points with four more three-pointers. The Bruin bench went 12-22 on FG's hitting 5 three-pointers. Sophomores Coen Collier and Trey Brown both scored 9 points for Salt Lake off the bench.

Salt Lake has a week off as their next tournament is December 28th-30th in Pima, Arizona. The Bruins tip-off at noon against Dawson Community College on the 28th.
