Consider the adjective to be a perfect description of the day for the Salt Lake Community College baseball team, with the Bruins downing No. 10 Southern Nevada twice to claim the Region 18 championship in Henderson, Nev. SLCC downed CSN by scores of 7-2 and 4-1, exacting revenge for Southern Nevada doing the same two seasons ago to the then-top seeded Bruins.

Salt Lake will now advance to next weekend's NJCAA West District playoffs.

Trey Gambill RBI double to take an early 1-0 lead. CSN responded to take a 2-1 advantage, prior to the Bruins going to work in the later innings. SLCC scored a pair of unearned runs in the fifth inning, thenÂ
Chip Beck had an RBI groundout in the sixth inning. BothÂ

Daniel Gonzalez and Gambill had RBI hits in the eighth inning.Â

Gambill went 2-of-4 in the win, posting two RBI's.Â
Dalton Smith threw a complete game to earn the win, spreading six hits and two strikeouts over nine innings.

Ethan Lamb hit an RBI triple in the seventh inning to lift the Bruins to the Region 18 title.

Trailing 1-0 in the seventh inning, Lamb hit a three-run triple to give SLCC its first lead of the game. Lamb also scored on a wild pitch in the inning.Â
Jaxon Weatherly was 3-of-4 in the win.

Dillon Kelly earned the pitching win in relief, throwing four shutout innings.Â
