TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 28, 2023) – Another day, another doubleheader sweep for the No. 16 Salt Lake Community College Softball team.

SLCC posted a sweep in the second day of a series at Southern Nevada, earning victories of 12-6 and 15-5 to sweep the series. Salt Lake is now 20-7 overall and 14-2 in Scenic West play.

The Bruins will take to the road again this weekend, playing at Snow College.

Salt Lake 12, Southern Nevada 6: SLCC started hot and held on for the win in the day's first game.

Lyndsey Madrigal hit an RBI single in the first inning, lifting the Burins to an early 2-0 lead. CSN would claim a 4-2 lead after the second inning, prior to Madrigal hitting a three-run home run in the fourth inning.
Chloe Woods also added a two-run shot to left-center to boost SLCC to an 8-4 advantage.

Madrigal added a solo home run in the sixth inning, then posted a two-run home run in the seventh inning. She went 4-of-5 with seven RBI's in the Bruin victory.Â

Salt Lake 15, Southern Nevada 5: Salt Lake posted a run-rule win to close out the series sweep.

Lyndsey Madrigal kept up her hot hitting from the first game, hitting an RBI double in the first inning. She then added a two-run home run in the third inning to lift the Bruins to a 5-2 lead.Â

Salt Lake went on to score ten runs in the last two innings, with
Bailey Marvin hitting a two-run double in the fifth inning.
Chloe Woods also added a two-run home run.

Woods was 4-of-4 in the game.
Bailey Marvin earned the pitching win, throwing 3.2 innings.Â
