TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 18, 2023) - The Salt Lake Community College Softball team built its Scenic West Athletic Conference lead Saturday, finishing off another series sweep.

SLCC split decisions with the College of Southern Idaho, earning a 3-1 series win with a 7-6 loss and a 13-10 win. The Bruins are now 16-7 overall and 10-2 in Scenic West games.

Salt Lake will host the College of Southern Nevada in a series next weekend.

Southern Idaho 7, Salt Lake 6: A late CSI comeback ended in a heartbreaking defeat for Salt Lake.

The Bruins jumped out to a 6-3 lead after the fifth inning, with Southern Idaho scoring four unanswered runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn the win.
Bailey Marvin was 3-of-4 in the loss, finishing with five RBI's after hitting a home run. Marvin hit a grand slam in the game.

Salt Lake 13, Southern Idaho 10: In a slugfest that featured 31 hits, the Bruins earned a comeback win to clinch the series.Â

It was CSI who took a 10-1 lead over SLCC after two innings, with SLCC's offense struggling to match the firepower of Southern Idaho. The Bruins turned things on in the sixth inning, with
Bailey Marvin hitting her second grand-slam home run of the day, tying the game at 10-10.
Mikelle Anthony added the winning runs, hitting a three-run home run to center field to give SLCC the lead it needed.

Alyssa Mighell was 4-of-5 in the win, while Anthony went 3-of-4 with five RBI's.
Brightyn Turner was 2-of-4.
Taylor Hagen earned the pitching win, throwing four innings in relief.Â
