TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 13, 2023) -Â Days of sun and warmth have been rare on the Wasatch Front in 2023, and so have days of SLCC Softball at Norma Carr Field.

The Bruins showcased their affinity for the warm weather though, posting a pair of run-rule victories over Colorado Northwestern Community College Monday. SLCC's wins of 27-0 and 18-0 lifted the Bruins to 7-1 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play, with a mark of 13-6 overall.

Salt Lake will travel to play at Southern Idaho on Friday.

Salt Lake 27, Colorado Northwestern 0: A pair of double-digit innings lifted the Bruins to a run-rule win.

Salt Lake scored a combined 21 runs in the second and third innings, finishing with 28 hits in the game. SLCC hit four home runs, with
Bailey Marvin hitting a pair herself (a three-run shot in the second inning, then a two-run home run in the third inning).Â

Marvin led the Bruins by going 4-of-5 at the plate, notching six RBI's.
Alyssa Mighell also went 4-of-5, scoring five runs.
Brooklyn Pintar was 3-of-5.Â

Ella Crookston earned the pitching win on a no-hitter, hanging seven strikeouts.Â

Salt Lake 18, Colorado Northwestern 0: A 12-run second inning keyed Salt Lake to another run-rule win.

Leading 1-0 after the first inning,
Miranda Mansfield hit a three-run home run to lift SLCC to a 10-0 advantage, with
Alyssa Mighell then adding an RBI triple in the same frame.
Aubree Leonard also hit a two-run home run in the third inning.

Bailey Marvin earned the pitching win, throwing four innings and allowing only a single hit and walk, each. She also threw five strikeouts.Â
