TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 4, 2023) - A Scenic West Athletic Conference road game went swimmingly for the No. 5 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team Saturday.
SLCC moved to 3-0 on the season against Colorado Northwestern, picking up a 99-48 win over the Spartans. The Bruins are now 24-2 overall and 12-2 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
In a game that was tight early, SLCC's depth made the difference as the Bruins turned an early deficit into a 42-28 halftime lead. From there, Salt Lake limited the Spartans to just 7-of-26 shooting in the second half to lead by as many as 54 points.
SLCC had seven players score in double figures, led by
Jalen Weaver's 15 points.
Jaquan Scott had a double-double of 14 points and 15 rebounds, while
Alejandro Vasquez and
Tyson Garff also scored 14 points each.
Jaxon Pollard,
Hunter Erickson and
Andre Mulibea each finished with 12 points.
The Bruins forced 28 CNCC turnovers in the game.
Salt Lake will play at Snow College in a single game Thursday.
