SLCC Women’s Basketball drops road game at No. 4 Southern Idaho

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 25, 2023) – The 2022-23 regular season is over for the Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team.
 
SLCC lost a 70-62 game at No. 4 Southern Idaho to drop to the No. 3 seed for next week's Region 18 tournament at Southern Idaho. The Bruins finished the regular season at 21-8 overall and 11-7 in league play.
 
Both teams traded blows throughout the first half, with CSI holding a narrow 33-32 lead. The Lady Golden Eagles broke away in the third quarter, holding a 17-6 edge to gain a lead that was never surrendered.
 
Aminata Diakite scored 24 points to lead the Bruins, while Finau Tonga scored 19 points in the loss. Ashton Adamson finished with 9 points. 
 
Salt Lake will be the No. 3 seed in next week's Region 18 tournament, facing off against No. 2 USU Eastern in Friday's semifinals.
