TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 18, 2023) – The 2022-23 home slate ended in impression fashion for the No. 7 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team.
Hosting 'Sophomore Day' inside the Lifetime Activities Center, the Bruins downed in-state rival USU Eastern , 96-73, moving to 3-0 against the Eagles on the season. SLCC is now 26-3 overall and 14-3 in Scenic West Athletic Conference games.
The Bruins and Eagles went back-and-forth early, prior to SLCC taking a 40-28 lead at halftime. SLCC then shot 57.6 percent in the second half to lead by as many as 32 points midway through the period.
Tyson Garff led the Bruins with 19 points, while
Hunter Erickson had 17 points.
Alejandro Vasquez posted 16 points and
Andre Mulibea scored 15 points.
Jared Garcia finished with a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Dwayne Koroma also had 11 points.
Salt Lake will travel to play at No. 1 Southern Idaho in next week's regular season finale.
