TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 25, 2023) - After a few weeks of inconsistent play on the road, it was all smiles for the Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team Wednesday.
Opening a rare home-and-away week in league play, the Bruins moved to a () win at Colorado Northwestern, gaining critical momentum in advance of Saturday's matchup with No. 4 Southern Idaho. Salt Lake is now 17-5 overall and 7-4 in Scenic West play.
It was Colorado Northwestern who seized momentum in the first half, taking a 37-29 lead at halftime. The Bruins responded in impression fashion in the third quarter though, going 12-of-20 from the field to outscore CNCC, 28-10, in the period. SLCC's defense limited CNCC to just 7-of-28 shooting in the second half.
Allyzee Verdan led the Bruins with 22 points, while
Aminata Diakite posted 20 points.
Karina Grayer scored 10 points.
SLCC will host Southern Idaho on Saturday inside the Lifetime Activities Center, playing at 1:00 p.m.
