TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 25, 2023) – A challenging week of Scenic West Athletic Conference games started with an impressive road win for the No. 4 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team.
SLCC rolled to a 98-67 win at Colorado Northwestern Wednesday, moving to 2-0 against the Spartans this season. The victory moves to the Bruins to 22-1 overall and 10-1 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Salt Lake was dominant from the start, taking a 50-32 lead after limiting CNCC to just 11-of-32 shooting in the first half. The Bruins kept building their momentum throughout the game, leading by as many as 35 points while shooting 54 percent from the field in the second half.
Alejandro Vasquez led SLCC with 25 points, going 11-of-14 from the field.
Jared Garcia scored 16 points, while
Jalen Weaver had 13 points.
Andre Mulibea had 11 points and
Tyson Garff scored 10 points.
Salt Lake will have one of its largest regular season matchups of the year take place Saturday inside the Lifetime Activities Center, coming at 3:00 p.m. against No. 1 Southern Idaho. CSI is undefeated in Scenic West play after earning a narrow win over SLCC earlier in the season.
