Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 28, 2023) – Every time Salt Lake and Southern Idaho meet in Scenic West Athletic Conference play, the stakes are high.
 
Saturday's men's basketball game between No. 4 Salt Lake and No. 2 Southern Idaho were no different, with national acclaim and Scenic West Athletic Conference bragging rights on the line. Salt Lake responded to the challenge well but fell to Southern Idaho, posting an 86-77 loss to the Golden Eagles. The loss drops the Bruins to 22-2 overall and 10-2 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
 
Both teams went back-and-forth early, prior to Southern Idaho building a lead it was able to maintain throughout the game. CSI led 37-33 at halftime, with Salt Lake being unable to come back in the second half as Southern Idaho stretched its lead to as many as 14 points. 
 
Alejandro Vasquez led SLCC with 17 points, while Jaquan Scott had 15 points. Hunter Erickson scored 13 points and Andre Mulibea finished with 10 points.
 
Salt Lake will host Southern Nevada in a game Wednesday. The game will start at 7:00 p.m. inside the Lifetime Activities Center.
