TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 19, 2023) – Success against in-state rivals continued for the No. 4 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team Thursday.
SLCC moved to 2-0 against Snow College on Thursday, earning a 91-76 victory over the Badgers. The Bruins are now 20-1 overall after the win, posting a mark of 8-1 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.
In a game where Salt Lake never trailed, the Bruins jumped out early on the way to a 54-39 lead. SLCC shot 52.2 percent from the field in the game, leading by as many as 24 points in the second half.
Defense played a large role in Salt Lake's success throughout the game. SLCC had 13 steals in the game, part of Snow's 20 turnovers, and limited the Badgers to just 4-of-16 shooting from three-point range.
Jared Garcia led the Bruins with 21 points, while
Hunter Erickson and
Alejandro Vasquez both scored 15 points each.
Andre Mulibea had 10 points in the win.
Salt Lake will host another Scenic West game on Saturday, facing Community Christian College. The game is set for a 3:00 p.m. tipoff.
