TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 14, 2023) – The first time the Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team played USU Eastern, it seemed that nothing went the Bruins' way.
 
Facing off against USU Eastern a second time, only this time at home, SLCC again fell short in a loss to the Lady Eagles, dropping a 62-59 decision. The loss drops Salt Lake to 15-4 overall and 5-3 in Scenic West Athletic Conference games.
 
In a game that featured eight lead changes, USU Eastern jumped out to a 35-27 halftime lead. SLCC cut the USU lead to three points with forty seconds left, with Aminata Diakite hitting a pair of free throws. From there, both teams traded possesions until Salt Lake's final chances ticked away.
 
Diakite led the Bruins with 17 points, with Finau Tonga scoring 13 points. Jamia Carter posted 10 points in the loss. 
 
Salt Lake will host Snow College and Community Christian College in games next week.
