TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 9, 2022) – It may not have been perfect, but the No. 13 Salt Lake Community College Baseball team accomplished its goal in Southern Nevada this weekend.
The Bruins put more distance between themselves and a Scenic West Athletic Conference challenger, with SLCC earning a 6-2 win over Southern Nevada. The victory lifts SLCC to 7-1 on the season against the Coyotes, with an overall record of 28-6. Salt Lake is 22-2 in Scenic West games.
 It was Southern Nevada who took an early lead, prior to
Karson Bodily hitting an RBI triple in the third inning to tie the game. Trailing 2-1 entering the seventh inning, Salt Lake scored three runs in a rally that was keyed by a
Dalton Hodge RBI single. The Bruins also scored two runs in the eighth inning.
Bruer Webster went 2-of-3 to lead Salt Lake.
Ernesto Lugo-Canchola earned the pitching win, throwing six innings with five strikeouts.
Salt Lake will play a four-game series at Colorado Northwestern next weekend.
