TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 30, 2022) – The No. 12 Salt Lake Community College Baseball team celebrated its sophomores in a sweeping fashion Saturday.

SLCC earned a 10-0 win over USU Eastern to finish off a series-and-season sweep over in-state rival USU Eastern, finishing the regular season with a mark of 21-1 at Cate Field. The victory lifts the Bruins to 38-8 overall and 32-4 in Scenic West play.

A pair of home runs powered the Bruins to the run-rule victory, with
Karson Bodily hitting a three-run home run in the second inning to lift Salt Lake to a 7-0 lead.
Jaxon Weatherly then added a three-run shot to right-center field in the fifth inning to end the game.Â

SLCC mustered just five hits in the game, with Weatherly going 1-of-1 with a walk.
Ernesto Lugo-Canchola earned the pitching win, throwing four innings with four strikeouts.Â

Salt Lake will close the regular season at Community Christian College in Southern California.
