TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 2, 2022) – The Salt Lake Community College Softball team earned a split in a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday.Â

SLCC finished a series with Snow College at 3-1, with the Bruins earning a 9-8 win before falling 10-7 in a loss. Salt Lake is now 19-11 overall and 17-8 in Scenic West games.

The Bruins will play a four-game series at USU Eastern next weekend.

Salt Lake 9, Snow 8: Salt Lake overcame an early Snow lead to earn the comeback victory.

Livi Arona hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to jumpstart the Bruins, with
Trinity Benson adding an RBI double soon after.
Brooklyn Pintar then posted a three-run home run to give SLCC an 8-6 lead after they previously trailed 6-0. Benson hit another solo home run in the fifth inning to close out the game.Â

Benson went 2-of-3 at the plate, while
Josee Haycock was 2-of-4.
Briley Young earned the pitching win, throwing 4.2 innings.Â

Snow 10, Salt Lake 7: It was Snow College who came back in game two to earn the victory.

Salt Lake built a strong lead, taking a 4-2 lead in the fourth inning after a
Hola Nakayama RBI single.
Brooklyn Pintar then added a two-run single later in the frame. From there, Snow scored eight runs over the next three innings to take a lead it would never relinquish.

Pintar finished 2-of-3 at the plate.
Jayci Finch earned the pitching loss in relief.Â
