TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 1, 2022) – The Salt Lake Community College Softball team enjoyed home cooking on Friday, earning a Scenic West doubleheader sweep.

SLCC picked up wins of 5-3 and 7-0 to sweep a Friday doubleheader over in-state rival Snow College, moving to 10-4 in games at Norma Carr Field. The Bruins are now 18-10 overall and 16-7 in Scenic West games.

SLCC and Snow will play another doubleheader on Saturday.

Salt Lake 5, Snow 3: Hola Nakayama hit a home run in the fourth inning, lifting the Bruins to a win.

Leading 1-0 in the third inning, Nakayama hit a two-run home run to lift Salt Lake to a 3-0 win.
Trinity Benson later hit a home run in the fifth inning, with
Kaylee Pierce adding an RBI groundout in the fourth inning.

Allie Laub went 2-of-3 to lead the Bruins, while
Bailey Frischknecht threw a complete-game victory that included seven strikeouts.Â

Salt Lake 7, Snow 0: Jayci Finch threw a complete-game victory, throwing seven scoreless innings to lead SLCC to a win.

Brooklyn Pinegar hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning to lift the Bruins to a 3-0 lead, with
Allie Laub then adding an RBI single in the fifth inning.
