The Salt Lake Community College Softball team discovered how true that adage is Friday, powering to a doubleheader sweep on the road at the College of Southern Nevada with victories of 10-2 and 11-10. The victories lift the Bruins to 15-9 overall and 13-6 in Scenic West play.

Salt Lake and Southern Nevada will play another doubleheader on Saturday.

Salt Lake 10, Southern Nevada 2: SLCC powered to a run-rule victory in the day's first game.

Karah Schultz hit a two-run RBI double in the second inning, followed up by
Lyndsey Madrigal hitting an RBI double later in the frame to lift SLCC to a 6-0 lead. The Bruins kept up the offensive assault in later innings, with
Hola Nakayama hitting a solo home run in the fifth inning and Madrigal hitting a two-run home run in the sixth inning.Â

Both Madrigal and
Josee Haycock went 3-of-4 at the plate, with Madrigal posting 3 RBI's.
Bailey Frischknecht earned the pitching win, throwing four strikeouts in six innings.

Salt Lake 11, Southern Nevada 10: In a topsy-turvy game, the Bruins powered for a comeback win.

SLCC started well, with
Hola Nakayama hitting an RBI double in the first inning and
Allie Laub adding an RBI single in the frame to give the Bruins an early 2-0 lead.
Lyndsey Madrigal then posted a bases-clearing double in the fifth inning, followed up by a Nakayama single to make the score 7-2.

Both teams traded shots back-and-forth until CSN carried a 10-8 lead into the seventh inning. Laub started the comeback try with an RBI double, setting the stage for
Livi Arona to hit a two-run double in the seventh inning.

Nakayama and Laub both went 3-of-4 at the plate.
Jayci Finch posted the win in the circle, throwing 6.1 innings.Â
