TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 17, 2022) – The No. 19 Salt Lake Community College Baseball team kept its Scenic West Athletic Conference winning streak alive Thursday.

SLCC, opening a four-game series with Southern Idaho, earned a 5-2 win over CSI to move to 9-0 in the Scenic West. The Bruins are now 15-4 overall.

CSI took an early lead, prior to
Travis Johnson hitting an RBI triple in the second inning to tie the game. After CSI retook the lead in the fourth inning,
Braden Winget and Johnson both added solo home runs in the seventh inning to give Salt Lake a 3-2 lead.
Hunter Swapp hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning for insurance runs.

Johnson went 2-of-3, while Winget and Swapp both were 2-of-4 at the plate.
Jordan Pace earned the pitching win in relief, allowing no hits while posting four strikeouts.
Derik Eaquinto had no decision in the start, finishing with six strikeouts.

Salt Lake and Southern Idaho will play a doubleheader Friday.
