TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 15, 2022) – The Salt Lake Community College Softball program closed out a series sweep at Norma Carr Field on Tuesday.

SLCC earned victories of 9-0 and 7-0 against Colorado Northwestern Community College, moving to 7-1 in Scenic West Athletic Conference games. The Bruins are now 12-6 overall.

Salt Lake will host the College of Southern Idaho in a four-game series this weekend at Norma Carr Field, playing doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday.

Salt Lake 9, Colorado Northwestern 0: Early scoring lifted the Bruins to a run-rule victory.

SLCC took a 3-0 lead after the second inning, scoring a pair of unearned runs and then utilizing a
Josee Haycock RBI triple. Haycock then added a two-run double in the third inning, scoring two more unearned runs in that same inning.Â

Hola Nakayama went 2-of-2 in the game, while
Briley Young earned the win in the pitching circle with a pair of strikeouts.Â

Salt Lake 7, Colorado Northwestern 0: The Bruins doubled up CNCC to close the series, utilizing several doubles in the victory.

Kaylee Pierce and
Alyssa Mighell posted RBI doubles in the second inning, then
Hola Nakayama added an RBI double in the sixth inning.
Livi Arona also posted an RBI double in the sixth inning.Â
