No. 1 SLCC Men’s Basketball races by Utah Peaks Prep

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 7, 2022) – A rare late-season non-conference game ended in a romping win for the No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team Tuesday.

SLCC rolled to a 159-53 win over Utah Peaks Prep inside the Lifetime Activities Center, moving to 27-0 overall. The margin-of-victory is Salt Lake's largest of the season.

In a game that only featured tales of SLCC's dominance, the Bruins took an 85-19 lead at halftime, with Salt Lake shooting 79.49 percent from the field in the first half (31-of-39). SLCC's defense was also critical in the win, with the Bruins scoring 92 points off 51 Utah Peaks turnovers.

A trio of players led the Bruins in scoring, with Tanner Cuff, Doctor Bradley and Jordan Brinson all scoring 21 points each. Cuff was 7-of-7 from the floor, while Brinson went 8-of-8 from the field. Jackson Last posted 19 points, while Jaquan Scott and Marion Humphrey both scored 18 points. Max Watson finished with 16 points, Chase Adams had 12 points and Jaxon Pollard scored 10 points.

Salt Lake will return to Scenic West Athletic Conference games on Saturday, hosting in-state rival Snow College.
