TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 25, 2022) – The No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team made a splash to open the postseason Friday. 
 
Hosting the Region 18 tournament, the Bruins powered to a dominant 95-61 win over in-state rival USU Eastern, advancing to the Region 18 championship game Saturday with Snow College. The Bruins are now 30-1 overall with the win.
 
The Bruins wasted little time in making their presence be known, running to a 45-30 lead at halftime after shooting 54.3 percent in the half. SLCC's defense also made a difference throughout the game, with Salt Lake forcing 28 USU Eastern turnovers. 
 
Marion Humphrey led SLCC on the floor, scored 21 points on a dominant 10-of-12 shooting performance. 
Quincy McGriff posted 13 points, while 
Jordan Brinson finished with 11 points. Both 
Chase Adams and 
Doctor Bradley finished with 10 points. 
 
Salt Lake and Snow will play for Region 18's automatic berth into the NJCAA playoffs Saturday, facing off in the championship game at 3:30 p.m. The game will be played inside the Lifetime Activities Center.
