TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 18, 2022) – The Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team powered to a strong home victory to start an unusual homestand.
SLCC picked up a win over Colorado Northwestern Friday, earning an 80-39 victory to start a rare back-to-back with the Lady Spartans. Salt Lake is now 18-8 overall and 10-6 in Scenic West play with the win.
After both teams were tied at 8-8 after the first quarter, the Bruins went on an offensive tear, outscoring CNCC 46-16 in the second half to roll to the victory. SLCC's defense limited CNCC to just 24.1 percent shooting for the game, with SLCC's bench helping the Bruins offensively to 76 points.
Brooke Donnelly and
Djessira Diawara both scored 16 points to lead Salt Lake, while
Aylanna Winn posted 15 points.
Maniah Clegg finished with 10 points.
Salt Lake will host Colorado Northwestern again on Saturday, playing at 1:00 p.m. inside the Lifetime Activities Center.
