TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 16, 2022) – The Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team suffered a tough loss in a Scenic West Athletic Conference road game Wednesday.
Playing at No. 10 Southern Idaho, SLCC lost a narrow 66-60 decision to the Golden Eagles, falling to 0-3 against CSI this season. The Bruins are now 17-8 overall and 9-6 in Scenic West games with the loss.
It was the Bruins who led at halftime, with SLCC holding a narrow 28-27 advantage at the break after holding CSI to just 10-of-33 from the field. Offensive struggles hurt SLCC in the third quarter though, with Southern Idaho outscoring Salt Lake 22-14 and taking a lead that stretched to as many as 13 points late in the quarter.
Diarrah Sissoko and
Naelle Bernard both scored 15 points for Salt Lake, while
Ness Ngakosso and
Hennessey Luu-Brown both posted 8 points apiece.
Aylanna Winn had 6 points in the loss.
Salt Lake will return for a three games-in-four days stretch, starting with a Friday-Saturday back-to-back against Colorado Northwestern.
