TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (December 20, 2022) - The No. 14 Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team rebounded from a disappointing loss Tuesday, rolling to an impressive win in a preseason holiday tournament.
 
SLCC picked up a resounding win over Glendale Community College in the second day of the 'College of Southern Nevada Holiday Basketball Invitational, presented by Canner Casino Hotel', earning a 68-42 win over the Gauchos. The Bruins are now 12-2 overall with the win.
 
Salt Lake dominated from the get-go, taking a 34-18 lead at halftime after limiting the Gauchos to just 29 percent shooting from the floor (7-of-24). SLCC's defense was dominant through the game, forcing 24 turnovers.
 
Mia Tarver led Salt Lake with a double-double, posting 17 points and 11 rebounds. Finau Tonga had 13 points for the Bruins on 6-of-6 shooting, while Jamia Carter scored 11 points and went 8-of-8 from the free throw line. 
 
Salt Lake will close out the CSN tournament with an appearance Wednesday, facing off against Casper College.
