TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (December 17, 2022) – A matchup of top-five programs in the NJCAA men's basketball ranks did not go the way of the No. 1 Salt Lake Bruins Saturday.
The SLCC Men's Basketball team, playing host to No. 4 Southern Idaho, fell in a tight 84-81 loss to the Golden Eagles, falling to 3-1 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play. Salt Lake is now 11-1 overall,
In a game that went back-and-forth, neither team led by more than seven points as SLCC jumped to a 39-37 lead at halftime. SLCC last held a lead midway through the fourth quarter, with CSI closing out the game from there.
Jaquan Scott finished with 31 points, also posting 16 rebounds to finish with a double-double.
Jared Garcia posted 11 points.
The Bruins will now take a break over the holidays until Tuesday, December 27, when SLCC will play in the 'Fiesta Bowl Shootout' tournament in Arizona.
