Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (December 27, 2022) - A holiday break did little to slow down the No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team.

The Bruins opened the 'Fiesta Bowl Junior College Shootout' tournament in Arizona in impressive fashion, posting a dominant 119-67 win over Justice College. The win boosts SLCC to 12-1 overall, and a perfect 9-0 in non-conference play.

Salt Lake was dominant from the start, taking a 66-23 lead at halftime. The Bruins were crisp from the get-go, shooting 55.9 percent and going 31-of-33 from the free-throw line. SLCC's defense also forced 27 turnovers.

Alejandro Vasquez led the Bruins with 25 points, going 7-of-10 from the field. Jaquan Scott scored 19 points and had 11 rebounds to finish with a double-double. 

Andre Mulibea finished with 16 points. Jared Garcia and Hunter Erickson both had 11 points each. Jalen Weaver scored 10 points. 

Salt Lake will continue play in the tournament on Wednesday, facing off against No. 14 South Plains Community College.
