TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 31, 2022) – The Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team shed the memories of a difficult week with a strong victory Monday.
SLCC earned a 78-48 win over Community Christian, breaking a three-game losing streak. The victory lifts the Bruins to 15-6 overall and 7-4 in Scenic West play.
It was Community Christian who led after the first quarter, 13-11, prior to the Bruins going on a 21-8 run in the second quarter to give Salt Lake a halftime lead. SLCC limited CCC to just 22.5 percent shooting in the middle quarters (8-of-31), part of a game effort that saw Community Christian made just 3-of-15 attempts from three-point range.
Hennessey Luu-Brown finished the game with 19 points, while
Brooke Donnelly and
Zaliah Adams both posted 12 points apiece.
Naelle Bernard scored 10 points in the win.
Salt Lake will return to the court on Saturday, traveling to play at USU Eastern.
