TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 22, 2022) – The No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team experienced a triumphant homecoming Saturday.

SLCC earned an 80-63 win over in-state rival USU Eastern, moving to 2-0 on the season against the Eagles. Salt Lake is now 22-0 overall with the win, alongside a mark of 11-0 in Scenic West play.Â

In a game where USU Eastern never led, the Bruins jumped out to a 39-25 lead at halftime, limiting USU Eastern to just 37.5 percent shooting. SLCC held serve throughout the game due to defense, with SLCC scoring 28 points from USU Eastern turnovers. Additionally, Salt Lake's bench played well as the Bruins finished out the long road trip, they've been on over the past two weeks, scoring 39 points.

Max Watson led SLCC with 12 points, while
Jordan Brinson,
Quincy McGriff and
Doctor Bradley all finished with 10 points apiece.
Jackson Last was 3-for-3 in the game, finishing with 7 points.Â

Salt Lake will host the College of Southern Nevada in a game inside the Lifetime Activities Center on Thursday. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.
