Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (August 27, 2021) - The No. 15 Salt Lake Community College Volleyball program split the first day of a tournament in Florida, earning a strong win over an impressive foe.
SLCC faced off against a pair of successful programs in a tournament hosted by Florida Southwestern College, downing Indian River by a 3-1 score (25-27, 25-21, 25-13, 25-12) and falling to No. 2 Miami Dade in a 2-3 heartbreaker (23-25, 25-20, 25-23, 19-25, 7-15). The Bruins are now 3-3 overall.
Salt Lake will continue play on Saturday in Florida, facing off against Polk State and No. 7 Florida Southwestern.

Sandora Sasaki posted nine aces in the win - part of SLCC's 14 overall aces. Other statistical highlights included
Laura Fiabane posting 50 assists.
Miami Dade 3, Salt Lake 2: A five-set thriller ended in a disappointing loss for SLCC.Â
Fiabane posted 52 assists and had 14 digs in the loss, while Sasaki led the Bruins with 17 kills.
Hikialani Kaohelaulii posted 32 digs to lead the program.Â
