Salt Lake City, Utah- No. 5 Salt Lake Volleyball (12-3) won both of their matches to wrap up the Bruin Bash.
Salt Lake swept Eastern Wyoming (5-12) in the Bruins first match of the day. 25-20, 25-14, 25-20. The Bruins came back to win set one as the Lancers led 18-12 at one point. Salt Lake prevailed with a big run and from there, won the second and third sets comfortably.
Angelina Murase hit .609 in the match and recorded 16 kills to pace Salt Lake. Murase had 3 of the Bruins 8 aces. Libero Daxlyn Robinson had nine digs and Swayzee Mason had a match-high 23 assists. Lana Hollway and Mason teamed up for three blocks throughout the match. In all, Hollway recorded 5 block assists.
The Bruins defeated the Cardinals of Trinity Valley (13-5) in four sets. 25-16, 17-25, 25-21, 25-12. Salt Lake hit .424 in the first set and started the match off strong. In the second set Trinity Valley blitzed Salt Lake with a fast start as they led 10-2 at one point. Salt Lake had nine attacking errors in the second set and only six attacking errors in the other three sets combined.
The Bruins hit .520 in the third set and closed out the Cardinals with a dominant fourth set.
Rylee Parkinson had a match-high 18 kills and hit .474. Cameron Zajer added 12 kills, 15 digs, and 4 aces. Angelina Murase had 10 kills and five block assists.
Ellie Crosbie caused problems at the net as she logged 7 block assists and 1 solo block.
Swayzee Mason had 25 assists and Teagan Sabillion contributed with 13 assists. Libero Daxlyn Robinson and Mason each tallied 10 digs.
