TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 9, 2021) – The No. 2 Salt Lake Community College softball team returned home to Norma Carr Field on Friday, sweeping a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader.

The Bruins earned a pair of run-rule wins over Colorado Northwestern Community College, sweeping the day's action by scores of 15-4 and 11-0. SLCC's victories boost their overall record to 31-1 overall and 21-1 in Scenic West play.

Salt Lake and Colorado Northwestern will play another doubleheader on Saturday.

Salt Lake 15, Colorado Northwestern 4: A fast start by the Bruins helped them to a series-opening win.

SLCC scored eight runs in the first inning, highlighted by a
Kaytlyn Cripps three-run home run. Rylee Harris added a solo home run in the second inning to boost the Salt Lake lead to 9-0. Other highlight SLCC at-bats include an
Allie Laub solo home run in the third inning.

The Bruins had five players with multi-hit games, with
Allie Laub and Savannah Montoya both going 2-of-2.
Bailey Frischknecht pitched a complete-game win, striking out six CNCC batters.Â

Josee Haycock home run early in the game lifted SLCC to the run-rule win.

Haycock hit a two-run home run in the second inning to lift the Bruins to a 3-0 lead, while
Bailee Noland added a two-run home run in the third inning.
Mackenzy Richins led Salt Lake by going 2-of-3 at the plate.Â
