TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 30, 2021) – The No. 2 Salt Lake Community College softball team started its final home series of the 2021 regular season with a doubleheader sweep Friday.

SLCC earned wins of 12-2 and 7-1 over in-state rival Snow College at Norma Carr Field, staying perfect on the season against the Badgers. The Bruins are now 42-2 overall and 32-2 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.

Salt Lake will play Snow College on Saturday, and will also celebrate 'Sophomore Day' festivities.

Salt Lake 12, Snow 2: SLCC posted 11 runs in the first inning, running their way to a run-rule victory.

The Bruins came out firing in the opening inning, with Rylee Harris hitting a three-run home run and
Hola Nakayama hitting a two-run home run. Nakayama also hit an RBI single in the inning. SLCC only score one more run in the remainder of the game.Â

Nakayama was a team-best 2-of-3 with three RBI's.
Bailey Frischknecht earned a complete-game win, striking out five Snow batters.

Salt Lake 7, Snow 1: The Bruins posted four runs in the third inning, taking another early inning.

Hola Nakayama posted a two-run single in the third inning, with Rylee Harris hitting a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
Rylie Bennett also hit an RBI single in the fourth inning.Â
