TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 16, 2021) – The Salt Lake Community College baseball team earned a series-opening win against the College of Southern Idaho Friday.

The Bruins earned a 9-1 win over the Golden Eagles, using early offense to earn the victory. SLCC is now 22-13 overall and 15-6 in Scenic West play.

SLCC posted four runs in the first inning, with
Eli Norman hitting a two-run single to take the early lead. Norman later hit a two-run home run in the third inning to boost to a 6-0 lead.
Dalton Hodge hit a two-run double later in the fifth inning.

Norman went 2-of-3 at the plate, with
Sean Keating going 3-of-4.
Fynn Chester earned the pitching win, throwing a complete game and striking out five.Â

Salt Lake and Southern Idaho will play a doubleheader on Saturday.
