TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 16, 2021) – The No. 2 Salt Lake Community College softball team split a road doubleheader Friday.

SLCC picked up a victory of 18-1 in game one and then fell 7-3 in game two in road games against the College of Southern Idaho, earning a sweep of Friday's games. Salt Lake is now 34-2 overall and 24-2 in Scenic West Athletic Conference.

Salt Lake and Southern Idaho will play a doubleheader on Saturday.

Salt Lake 18, Southern Idaho 1: Consistent scoring led the Bruins to a run-rule win.

SLCC finished with eight extra-base hits, with
Brylee Marziale-Hill hitting two home runs. Savannah Montoya hit a three-run home run in the third inning, with
Mackenzy Richins hitting a two-run double in the fourth inning.

Rylie Bennett went 4-of-4, while Montoya went 2-of-4.
Bailey Frischknecht earned the complete-game win.Â

Southern Idaho 7, Salt Lake 3: The Golden Eagles came out strong offensively, powering to the win.

CSI jumped out to a 7-0 lead, with Salt Lake making a late comeback.
Mercedes Call hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to cut the deficit to 7-3, with the rally ending shortly.Â
