TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 1, 2021) - The Salt Lake Community College baseball team suffered a close loss in a series-opening game with a nationally-ranked foe.
SLCC fell in a close 2-1 decision to No. 10 Southern Nevada, falling in the opening of a four-game series at CSN. The loss drops SLCC to 12-13 overall and 7-6 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
In a game where scoring was light, Southern Nevada took an early 2-0 lead and then held serve. Salt Lake scored an unearned run in the fourth inning, thanks to
Bruer Webster going home on a wild pitch. SLCC had no hits in the game.
Fynn Chester took the pitching loss for the Bruins, striking out five CSN batters in six innings.
Salt Lake and Southern Nevada will play a doubleheader on Friday at Morse Stadium in Henderson, Nev.Â
