TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 13, 2021) - The No. 2 Salt Lake Community College softball team continued building on its growing fire, finishing off a Scenic West Athletic Conference series sweep Saturday.
The Bruins swept a four-game series with the College of Southern Idaho, earning victories of 9-0 and 9-7 in the doubleheader. The victories boost Salt Lake to 18-0 overall and 8-0 in the Scenic West, keeping SLCC in the top spot in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.Â
Salt Lake will travel to Price for next weekend, playing a four-game series with USU Eastern.
Salt Lake 9, Southern Idaho 0: Consistent scoring led to the Bruins earning a run-rule win in the day's first game.
Rylee Harris hit a two-run double in the third inning to give SLCC an early 4-0 lead. Additionally, the Bruins scored three unearned runs, with Harris hitting a three-run home run in the fourth inning.
Harris was a perfect 3-of-3 at the plate, with five RBI's.
Bailey Frischknecht threw a complete-game win in five innings, with seven strikeouts in the win.

Tied at 1-1 entering the fourth inning,
Rylie Bennett hit a three-run home run to lift SLCC to an 8-1 lead.
Allie Laub hit an RBI triple in the fifth inning to add to the Bruin advantage.
Brylee Marziale went 2-of-3 at the plate, also earning the pitching wins by throwing five innings and striking out three CSI batters.
Mercedes Call went 2-of-4 in the game.Â
