TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 13, 2021) - The Salt Lake Community College baseball team fell in a series finale with a regional Scenic West Athletic Conference foe.
The Bruins lost a 6-4 decision at the College of Southern Idaho, with SLCC leading early and then falling late. The loss drops Salt Lake to 7-11 overall and 4-4 in Scenic West play.
SLCC started hot, taking a 4-0 lead after the top of the first inning thanks to a
Travis Johnson two-run single.
Jake Herman also hit an RBI single in the inning, with
Braden Winget also hitting a two-run double. From there, Southern Idaho scored six unanswered runs to close out the game.
Johnson and Winget both finished 1-of-3 at the plate.
Derik Eaquinto took the pitching loss for Salt Lake.
The Bruins will host USU Eastern in a four-game series next weekend at Cate Field in West Jordan.Â
