TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 12, 2021) – The No. 2 Salt Lake Community College softball team continued the unbeaten start to its 2021 season.

Facing off against the College of Southern Idaho, SLCC earned a 10-5Â win in game one and a 9-8Â victory in game two, starting the four-game series with a doubleheader sweep. The wins move SLCC to 16-0Â overall and 6-0 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.

Salt Lake will host Southern Idaho in another doubleheader on Saturday at Norma Carr Field.
Salt Lake 10, Southern Idaho 5: Consistent innings and big scoring lifted the Bruins to a victory.
SLCC scored on a passed ball in the second inning to get on the board, with a
Hola Nakayama two-run double in the fourth inning upping Salt Lake's lead to 5-1.
Kaytlyn Cripps hit a two-run home run later in the fourth inning, with Brylee Marziale also adding a solo shot. Rylee Harris hit a solo home run in the sixth inning.
Harris finished 3-of-4 in the game, with Marziale going 2-of-3 from the plate.
Nya Laing earned the pitching win.
Salt Lake 9, Southern Idaho 8: SLCC overcome early Southern Idaho momentum, picking up the close victory.
Mackenzy Richins hit a three-run home run to give Salt Lake an early 4-3 lead, with Savannah Montoya hitting a solo shot in the second inning. CSI took an 8-7 lead in the seventh inning before a
Josee Haycock RBI single provided the walk-off runs for Salt Lake.
Haycock was 3-of-4 at the plate, while Montoya finished 2-of-3. Brylee Marziale earned the pitching win, throwing three innings of relief.Â
