TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 6, 2021) – The 2021 preseason has ended and the No. 3 Salt Lake Community College men's basketball team has completed it with an undefeated record.
Â
SLCC finished a perfect 7-0 in the preseason Saturday, earning a 128-92Â win over the Utah All-Stars. Salt Lake jumped out to a 56-40 lead at halftime and never looked back, scoring 72 points in the second half.
Â
"I'm proud of our guys for finishing off non-conference undefeated," SLCC coach
Kyle Taylor. "Now we have to raise the bar and level of play because the SWAC is very good. Everyone is much improved from last year and everyone will be looking to knock us off as the defending champs."
Felix Lemetti scored 20 points, while
James Lee posted 16 points.
Max Watson scored 15 points and
Jay Allen-Tovar scored 14 points.
Quincy McGriff and
Maks Klanjscek both finished with 11 points.
"We shot the ball very well from three-point range tonight," said Taylor. "
Max Watson and
Maks Klanjscek got us going, then
Felix Lemetti got hot midway through the first and made five three's in the first half. It was a good team effort in the win."
Â
The Bruins will open Scenic West Athletic Conference play on Tuesday with a game against longtime rival College of Southern Idaho. The game will be played at 7:00 p.m. inside the Lifetime Activities Center.Â
